Jim Greer very kindly bought an El Rey Mundo for me out at the Georgetown Square Riegel's after we had lunch together at Ziffle's, and I chose the Saturday morning Bible study at the Covington Plaza Riegel's to enjoy it. Nice smoke, perhaps on the high end of medium strength which was just perfect after a hearty breakfast at The Big-Eyed Fish on Wells Street with my usual Saturday morning breakfast crew.

Currently enjoying a Rocky Patel Edge while getting ready to listen to the Cubs on 720 WGN radio. This is the way to end a weekend. _________________ Winner of the 2009 Riegels pipe smoking contest. |

My oldest son and I sat on the back deck this evening, each of us with an Omar Ortiz lit in our hands. Excellent, somewhat full-bodied smokes. Good thing we had a rather large dinner of Tex-Mex, washed down with some Dos Equis Lager Especiale.

Enjoyed a marvelous Romeo y Julieta 1875 Medallas de Oro Aniversario (sic) shortly after lunch, accompanied by several steaming black mugs of coffee in rapid succession. Really enjoyed this medium-plus bodied cigar with a definite hint of spiciness!

Enjoyed an H. Upmann 1844 Vintage Cameroon while fishing over at some in-laws after dinner this evening. Must have worked, because I reeled in three good-sized largemouth bass and but for slow work with the net on the part of my wife would have gotten two more which got off right at the show's edge. Plus landed a large number of bluegill and other sunfish. Same for my wife, who netted two similarly proportioned bass and a fair number of bluegills in her own right. Yeah, the cigar must have been an attractant, for sure.
